You seem to want Canada as part of the United States.  That is an intriguing thought, and you have presented your views on the subject well, but I think there may be unintended effects that you have been misinformed about.  Certainly, Canada could not physically be one state, and you may not want Quebec at all (all those foreign French speaking people who want to protect their culture, laws and customs.). They would surely expect the U.S. to become bilingual

So realistically let’s say 7 states makes more sense.  Seven progressive Bernie Sanders leaning, Democratic voting states.  This would pretty much ensure that no Republican ever again became president.

I’m sure this would not be an ideal situation in your mind.  So let me propose an alternative solution which ensures Republican dominance in the U.S. pretty much for ever.

Instead of bringing the dreaded Canadian Socialist leanings into the U.S., I propose a realignment of political direction.

You could tell your problematic democrat leaning states to leave your country and join Canada.  The states of California, Oregon, Washington, Main, Vermont, New Hampshire, New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota, would maybe want to join Canada and enjoy free healthcare, sensible gun laws, government funded education, a highly educated population, Zero mass murders, full and free prenatal, natal, and post-natal care as a part of their free healthcare, and increased state autonomy.

You may not have been told, that in Canada the provinces control lumber and ground resources.

Canada of course already has close ties with these states so a political marriage would not be a stretch.

The remaining states, pretty much all the red states would constitute the U.S. and would of course be Republican dominated.  Obviously, each state should have the right to choose which union would be best for them.  Alaska for instance may also prefer the northern union as being more appropriate.

As a result, Canada would of course get larger and the U.S. smaller. And, with the increased economic strength of its new provinces, Canada would be able to provide for a significantly larger military and could then better protect itself, negating any need for U.S. help, which would certainly meet one of your specific requests.   Yes, Donald I realize that NORAD is in fact a defence for North America, and with a larger, more dominant Canada, we would of course continue to defend the U.S. for you.

Think about it Donald and ask your state governors what they think.  Canada would be happy to have then.  No threats or coercion, just a simple ‘hands across the border’ welcoming of our American cousins into our home and native land.

Don’t like my Idea? Then, realistically I suggest that you knock off the juvenile posturing and if you can’t act like a President, at least act like an adult and play nice.  The American people don’t deserve the chaos and misery that you are forcing on them.  As for Canada, don’t worry too much about us, we’ll be fine.  When the smoke clears, Canada will be stronger, more self-reliant and far less connected to the U.S. economically or politically.  The U.S. on the other hand will end up in a far less powerful position in the world, with no friends and little influence, and like great empires before it, may simply not survive at all.

It’s OK Donald.  We promise that the new Canada will stop illegal drugs from entering your country and that your Midwest will be able to manufacture anything they want.

Regards

Canada
