Liberal/NDP partnership

Trudeau, who currently is as popular as a rat at a picnic, wants to ensure that we have to endure him for another 4 years. Desperately he is making a deal with the NDP. This will ensure that the overriding policy for the next four years will be spend, spend, spend based on an NDP endless wish list. Notwithstanding that the world is on the brink of nuclear war, Superpower countries are taking over their neighbours on a whim, and numerous dangerous inter-state frictions threaten world peace.

With this background for the world stage, Canada is going to prioritize social giveaways, and not defence as most other countries are doing. Policies guaranteed to ensure that even if a more rational governments takes power in 2025, there won’t be any money left in the coffers for any improvements in defence then. In the meantime it is near guaranteed that new jets for the RCAF, new warships for our navy, additional troops, pilots, and sailors for our armed forces, or air defence weapons, will be back burnered. We here at ‘Notes from The North’ are sure that Trudeau, (son of WW2 conscientious objector) anti military Prime Minister would meet any foreign attacker the same way that Volodymyr Zelenskyy is doing in Ukraine. Or maybe he would just meet them with flowers to put in the barrels of their rifles.

NATO ASK

NATO asks that Canada dedicate 2% of its GDP to defence. 2%! In everyday life in Canada 2% means 2 pennies of a dollar. Since Canada no longer has pennies, you cannot even buy anything for 2 pennies. The government didn’t even think that pennies were worth making. 2 cents is a rounding number for a Tims coffee. But our government and particularly the NDPs Jagmeet Singh. Singh thinks 2% is too much. if there are two pennies left in the bottom of the bag he wants to give away to someone who will vote for him. Canada currently spends 1.36% on defence. One of the lowest numbers in NATO. We have run out of meaningful supplies to give Ukraine

After running out of weapons to send to Ukraine and underspending its own plan to properly equip the Canadian military by $10 billion over the last four years, the Trudeau government now says it’s looking at increasing military spending – whoops! Liberal/NDP deal- Disregard the above.
