Marjorie Taylor Greene and some of her fellow MAGAtunes are calling for the Republican States of America to divorce the Democratic states. Crazy as that may seem (If you can imagine something crazy coming from Ms. Greene), lets for a moment at least consider the possibility
With the current political map of the U.S., such a divorce could be devastating to the U.S. Th Democratic states located on both coasts and on the Great Lakes shoreline are separated by a huge swath in the center of the country that is solid red Republican. Post divorce, the Republican states would be expected to create their MAGA Utopian – Christian Nationalist nation under their new “President for life” -Donald Trump.
The RSA (Republican States of America would of course maintain their fear mongering and blaming of every economic, political, Foreign Policy failure on their previous partner the Democratic States. This would provide justification for disrupting the trade, communications, and commerce between the east coast democratic states and the west coast democrats. These measures coupled with every kind of state law imaginable, designed to meddle, delay, restrict and punish their divorced partner would eventually destroy the economies of the Democratic states as well.
CHANGE
In the typical divorce love story, the aggrieved partner turns out to be happy in the end. This story can end that way. The Democratic states simply need to look at the cute next-door neighbour. The Democrats simply need to look to Canada.
CANADA
Consider that the Democratic States simply join Canada. They would immediately get
- Universal Health Care
- An Improved Education System
- A Multi Party Political System
- A Regulated Firearms System
- A Charter of Rights and Freedoms
- A Democratic Voting System
- Civil Rights Protections
A daily life very similar to what is normal in the U.S. today, minus-mas- murders, police killings of, innocent people, racism, prejudice, homophobia, islamophobia, and restrictions on civil rights.
CANADA GETS
With the union Canada receives
- A massive population increase
- A massive economic increase
In the end the world’s largest economy would simply move from the USA to CANADA or CANUSA if one prefers. The Republican States of America would simply be left to their own devices Which I’m sure MTG would live to regret.
THE NEW MAP
The simple merger between Canada and the Democratic states would look like this
- The new England States would join New Brunswick,creating an even more powerful economic region
- New York, New Jersey and Michigan would join Ontario creating, probably the most powerful economic region in the world
- Minnesota would join Manitoba
- Washington would join British Columbia
- California, Oregon, and Hawaii would become an 11th Province. Which would still be the most popululated and economically powerful Province after the new York/ Ontario union.
These are my thoughts. Probably not much less fanciful than MTG’s but, I think, a lot better for a lot more people.
